ATHLETIC 19 TUMBLE 10
A great team performance with committment in abundance saw a much needed win for the Red & Blacks. A tough physical encounter against near neighbours Tumble was just the ticket to see in the near year for the Athletic. Full back Scott Maynard probably had his finest game in club colours and was fully deserving the man of the match accolade after a solid individual performance. Not only did he score all 19 points with a try, conversion & four penalties, but he was solid in defence, under the high ball and a constant threat in attack.
Hopefully this performance will kick start our season & fortunes will be reversed for the second half of season. Lady luck has thus far escaped us, but if we show the same gritty determination in future we will soon turn the corner and start climbing the table. We entertain top of the table Pontarddulais at home next Saturday.
