13 - unlucky for most!

Saturday 13th October 2018

Sadly, the devastating effect of Storm Callum wiped out most of the country's planned sporting fixtures. Included were the club's First, Druids & Youth XV's games against Pontyberem, Nantgaredig 2nds & Newcastle Emlyn Youth.

A months worth of rain fell in just 24 hours to create scenes reminiscent of the total deluge of the 1987 Carmarthen flood. All areas of Carmarthen, the Tywi Valley and most of South Wales have seen flood defences breached and roads closed.

We hope that conditions will return to normality next week. In the meantime, stay safe & don't venture on the roads unless absolutely necessary.

Picture: Carmarthen Quay and Coracle Way is just one area of the town submerged as a result of Storm Callum.
