WRU National Youth Bowl 1/4 Final

The Athletic were deserved winners in a hard fought 2 West encounter with Loughor on a heavy Athletic Park playing surface. The Red & Blacks were right on top of their defensive tactics and worked hard to keep the visitors at bay. After an even first half, with the home team leading by just 3 points to nil, the second period brought rewards with three tries being scored by Athletic.
Winger Josh Watson grabbed a speedy brace of tries and full back Robbie Thomas also showed his pace with an elusive run to the line. Stand off Carwyn Evans added a penalty and a conversion to make the final score 20 points to nil.
The Athletic Youth put in a valiant effort in the 1/4 final of the Welsh Youth Bowl competition against Cardiff Quins Youth. Unfortunately, their efforts fell just short as the visitors grabbed a narrow 14-13 win.
