They will never be forgotten.

On this day 41 years ago, we lost four good men in a horrific road accident at Nant y Caws hill. Club captain Howard Parry (aged 28), first team hooker Brian Jenkins (aged 21) and former Athletic player & Swansea RFC No.8 Phil Davies (aged 24) were representing Carmarthenshire County in the Welsh Counties Cup in Ystradgynlais. The three players were accompanied by club life member & Carmarthen County selector Benny Lewis (aged 60). The four friends were travelling home after the game when the car in which they were travelling was involved in the accident with a Calor Gas lorry on the notorious stretch of road. The lorry driver, Roger Goodreid of Neath, also sustained fatal injuries.

This was the was without doubt the darkest day in the history of the club which has had a lasting and profound effect on our family orientated membership.

Since that tragedy we have honoured their memory & the memory of others who have been lost in similar circumstances with a Memorial Match played on Boxing Day, 26th December annually - this tradition will continue.

THEY WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN
