Congratulations to popular Athletic couple Barrie & Liz Jones who celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary today.

Barrie continues to serve as a valued Committee Member of the Club and Liz served for many years as a member of the Ladies Committee. 

The Jones/Taylor families have a long association with the Athletic with Barrie being a former Captain of the Druids, sons Kevin & Stuart and grandson Dan also former Red & Blacks. Liz's late father Gideon Taylor captained the Club in 1948-49,1949-50 and was Chairman of the Youth Section for five years (1965-1970). Her brother Robert also played for Athletic. 

Barrie said earlier today "It has been a blissful fifty years with not a cross word along the way".

Photo: Pictured a couple of years ago on a visit to Ellis Island, New York. They were, however, unlucky not to gain entry at the famous US immigration point. Barrie was deemed to be an undesirable character!
