The Club is deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of former Captain of the Club's Dragons XV Andrew Knight, aged 61 years.

He sadly passed away, in his sleep, on 17th September while on a trip to Portugal with friends.

Andrew was a popular member for many years and thoroughly enjoyed the banter at the Athletic Clubhouses, firstly at the old premises in Friars Park and more recently at Athletic Park in Johnstown. He holds the distinction of being the Captain of the Club's Dragons (third) XV during their final season 1993 - 1994 before they were disbanded.

Another sporting love in his life was football. He was an avid & loyal supporter of Cardiff City and the Wales National team. A great joy for him was following Wales at home & abroad, and he was looking forward to attending the World Cup in Qatar in November with close friends.

Our heartfelt sympathies & condolences are conveyed to his wife Kim and daughters Zoe and Paige and greater family at this very difficult time. Our thoughts are with them all.
