Exiles meet up 'down under'.

Two former Athletic players (from different eras) got together in Tasmania, Australia recently. Tim Footman and hife Judi were on holiday to New Zealand, Australia & Tasmania and decided to look up another Athletic boy who now resides in the island's capital - Hobart. Tim affectionately known as 'Footy', has resided in Vancouver, Canada for almost 50 years and is a much travelled man. He has been retired for the past two years and spends much of his time visiting new travel destinations. He played for the club in the sixties before going to sea as a merchant seaman and eventually emigrating.

Stuart Jones is a former Red & Black having played for the juniors, youth & senior teams back in the eighties & nineties. He famousely dropped the goal that won the Welsh Youth Cup at the National Stadium, Cardiff Arms Park in 1993 against Merthyr RFC Youth. He emigrated to Brisbane around eight years ago, where he met his future wife Marie. They were married in Hobart, Tasmania and have two daughters Lucy & Clara. Stuart is the Project Manager at Hobart General Hospital and is the youngest son of Athletic committee member Barrie Jones & his wife Liz.
