Gerald's the man!

The club is delighted to announce that a unanimous decision to nominate Mr T. G. R. Davies, CBE, for the role of President of the Welsh Rugby Union was made at tonight's Executive Committee meeting. The position of President, currently held by Mr Dennis Gethin, will become vacant on his retirement later in the year.

In his stellar playing career, Gerald ( a native of Llansaint) was a world class wing threequarter who dazzled opponents with his mercurial displays on the field. 'Side stepping' his way to some memorable touch downs for his clubs, Wales and British & Irish Lions.

Since his retirement as a player, Gerald has been actively involved in the game off the field. Among his many roles, he has served on the WRU board, managed the Lions in 2009 and later was appointed Chairman of the Lions. Much respected, dignified and erudite, it is our firm belief that he is best suited to the highest position in Welsh Rugby.

We are proud that Thomas Gerald Reames Davies once donned an Athletic shirt as a schoolboy in the sixties.
