Outside Half Factory!

Max Boyce waxed lyrical about the mythical Welsh 'Outside Half Factory' - well perhaps the club is a microcosm of that legend on the evidence of last night's Anglo Welsh cup match at Parc y Scarlets. Two former Red & Blacks went head to head in the traditional 'Rag Doll' game between the Scarlets and Bath. Dan Jones started at 10 for the home side with 48 times capped Rhys Priestland his opposite number for the Aviva Premiership side.

In a game of two halves, Bath scored three tries to dominate proceedings 21-9 at the interval but a remarkable turn around in the second half saw the Scarlets score five tries to deservedly win the match 44-21. Ironically, Priestland was yellow carded for a dangerous tackle on Jones late on and Scarlets sealed the victory with two further tries during this period. Another former Athletic & current Llandovery No 10 Jack Maynard also made an appearance from the bench in the final few minutes. Well done to all three 10's!

Dan Jones contributed 19 points with 5 penalties and two conversions, Rhys Priestland scored 6 points with 3 conversions.
