Welsh hooker Ken Owens really hit the heights last Friday night. Not only did he produce a great performance along with all other players in red to defeat a strong Irish side 22-9, but he was the selected squad player to feature on the front cover of the official match programme.

The Scarlets captain is a proud Welshman who is equally proud to represent our region and his beloved Red & Blacks. He is in the form of his life and thus far has staked a strong claim for selection to the British & Irish Lions tour party to New Zealand in June. He is also about to join an elite club, if selected against France next Saturday Ken will win his 50th cap. A magnificent and fully deserved honour for him, his family and Carmarthen.
